Badges & Registration


Do I need to register for a badge?

Competitors who qualified for the World Championships will receive details on how to RSVP to the event via email. All qualified competitors will receive a competitor pass and two three-day spectator passes for their guests.

Do I have to wear my badge?

Yes. All attendees must visibly wear their badge throughout the duration of the event. Anyone in the venue without a badge may be asked to leave.

What happens if I lose my badge?

Please come to the Customer Service desk on-site at the event for more information and further steps.

Why do you need my birthdate to register?

Your birthdate is required to make sure you play in the correct age division for the event you are attempting to register for. Without the ability to confirm your birthdate, you cannot register online for any event.

Will I receive anything for my purchase through the mail or in advance of the event?

You will not receive any physical items before the event takes place. You will, however, receive email confirmation that your registration for this event was successful. This email will help you check in on-site for the event and receive the badge you have registered for.

Can I get a refund after registering (for events, badges, etc.)?

Refunds are not available for this event, and tickets are not transferrable. If your circumstances have changed, please contact the Customer Service team at support.pokemon.com.

Are wheelchairs or disability accessibility services available?

The Hawai‘i Convention Center provides a variety of accessibility services, including wheelchair and mobile scooter hire. Click here to get more information on these services. Should you require assigned seating or other accommodations to attend the event, please contact the Customer Service team at support.pokemon.com.

Will power charging stations for my personal devices be available on-site?

Official device charging stations will not be provided for this event. Competitors are strongly encouraged to bring a charger for their systems and personal devices. It is each competitor’s responsibility to ensure that any of their personal devices required for tournament play remain operational throughout the tournament.

Will photography or video be taken at this event?

Yes. Photography and video are permitted to be taken in the hall for personal use only. Professional video coverage and photography by TPCi and its partners will be taken as well. By attending Worlds in a ticketed area, you consent to having your photo taken by TPCi staff or its partners.

What items are prohibited in the hall?
To ensure the safety of all attendees, the following items will not be permitted at the event.
  • Items that could be considered weapons and would not pass airline security (including all firearms, sharp objects, mock or prop weapons, and sprays).
  • Electronic smoking devices.
  • Bags larger than 9″ × 14″ × 22″ (23 cm × 36 cm × 56 cm). If an airline would not classify it as a carry-on, it is too big.
  • Alcoholic beverages or any illegal substance.
  • Apparel, objects, or signs with explicit wording or pictures.
  • Animals (other than service animals).
All bags are subject to search upon entry to the event, and security retains the right to refuse entry.
What languages will announcements and information be available in on-site?

All signage and tournament announcements will be in English. We will also have translators available for ad-hoc assistance in, at a minimum, the following languages: French, German, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Japanese, Korean, and Chinese. Other languages may also be supported.

Am I allowed to cosplay in the venue?

Yes! We love seeing our fans cosplay as their favorite characters and Pokémon from across the Pokémon franchise. Please note that costumes must be appropriate for all ages and must not include any prohibited items.

Can I buy, sell, or trade cards on-site?

Trading cards with other competitors is always a major draw of the game, and we welcome competitors to do so at our tournaments. Pokémon Center will have a range of Pokémon TCG products available. Buying cards from or selling cards to an unapproved vendor is strictly prohibited at the event and may lead to expulsion from the venue.

Can I vape or use an e-cigarette inside the venue?

No. Use of e-cigarettes or vaping products is not permitted inside the venue at this event.

What is the Code of Conduct for this event?
The Pokémon Company International is committed to fostering an environment that is inclusive to all participants. We expect all event attendees to review and abide by the Play! Pokémon Inclusion Policy.

How are you handling COVID-19 safety?

Play! Pokémon events operate in compliance with local laws. It is the responsibility of all participating attendees and/or their parent or guardian to fully understand all COVID-19 risks associated with large gatherings, and any necessary requirements and processes for participation as listed in the Play! Pokémon COVID-19 Protocols, which can be found here.

Do I need to register online for this event?
Yes. All competitors are required to register for their respective tournaments in advance of the event. Competitors must register for their events online through the official registration portal.

Additionally, competitors in the Pokémon TCG, Pokémon VGC, and Pokémon GO events must submit their deck and team lists through RK9 in order to participate in the tournament; instructions to do so will be provided to registered competitors.
What are the prizes for this event?

All prizing details are available on Pokemon.com.

How many rounds are in this event?

The number of rounds in the competitions may differ depending on the number of eligible competitors who arrive on-site and complete registration.

How do I submit my deck list or team list for this event?

Deck lists or team lists are required for competitors in the Pokémon TCG, Pokémon VGC, and Pokémon GO events and must be submitted through RK9, up to 7:30 a.m. on the first day of the event. Any lists not submitted on time may result in a Round 1 loss. For information on how to submit your list for the event, see RK9’s support article for deck lists or for team lists.

When will I receive my Travel Award or Travel Stipend for this event?
Competitors who qualify for a Travel Award will receive a flat amount prior to the event. Competitors are fully responsible for booking their own hotel and travel and must also complete a Travel Award Waiver to receive their award. Competitors earning a Travel Award will be emailed in advance of the event with further instructions on how to claim their Travel Award.

Competitors who earn a Travel Stipend will have their stipend paid after the event, subject to them attending and completing at least one round of play in the main event. Competitors receiving Travel Stipends will be emailed in advance of this event informing them of their stipend but do not need to complete any additional paperwork to claim this prize, other than participating in at least one round of play for the main event that qualified them for this stipend.
Will meal breaks be taken at this event?

Competitors are expected to take meal breaks and eat snacks outside their scheduled match play.

Will there be live coverage for this event?

Yes! Coverage for this event will take place over Twitch and YouTube throughout the weekend. Please check Pokemon.com/broadcasts for more details as they become available.

No outside food or drink is allowed in the venue. There are food courts and concessions at the venue.

What is the closest airport to the venue?

Where can I park at the venue?

Information on nearby parking options can be found on the venue’s website. Attendees are responsible for any fees associated with parking at this event.

Will there be a shuttle service?

Continuous roundtrip shuttle service is available for attendees between the Hilton Hawaiian Village and the Hawaiʻi Convention Center. Hotel pick-up point is the Bus Terminal  

  • Friday: 6:30am – 10:00pm 
  • Saturday: 7:00am – 10:00pm 
  • Sunday: 7:00am – 8:00pm

Do I need a badge to enter the Pokémon Center Worlds store?

The Pokémon Center Worlds store is accessible without a tournament badge.

Do I need a reservation / appointment to shop at the Pokémon Center Worlds store?

Entry to the store requires a reservation. 

Can I use my competitor or spectator badge to shop at the Pokémon Center Worlds store without a reservation?

No, everyone needs a separate reservation to enter the Pokémon Center Worlds store.

What payment types are accepted at Pokémon Center?

Pokémon Center does not accept cash. You can pay by cash card (debit) or most credit cards.

Are there any items with purchase limits?

To make products available to as many customers as possible, we may limit the number of some products that can be purchased. We reserve the right to change the limits and products with limits at our discretion.

Will returns or exchanges be offered for items purchased at the Pokémon Center Worlds store?

All sales are final. We will allow for some exchanges of defective goods during the show period. No refunds or returns will be offered.

The Pokémon Center Worlds store is located within the Hawai‘i Convention Center and is accessible via elevator.
